New record for human pressure in the Balearic Islands: 1.8 million people in one day in May
By islands, in May 2025, the day of greatest human pressure in Mallorca reached 1,360,551 people.

PalmThe Balearic Islands recorded the presence of 1,816,629 people on May 30, which represents an increase of 1.27% compared to the previous year and breaks a new record for human pressure for the fifth month of the year, according to data published this Wednesday by the Balearic Institute of Statistics (Ibestat).
In fact, throughout the month the figure did not fall below the 1,637,427 people on the 6th and the average stood at 1,702,028 people, 0.88% less than in May 2024.
The maximum figure recorded on the 30th counted in the same month last year, with 22,831 more people.
By islands, in May 2025, the day with the highest human pressure in Mallorca, 1,360,551 people were reached; In Menorca, 161,659 people; in Ibiza, 276,185 people; and in Formentera, 22,317 people.
