One dead and four injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles in Alcudia

A man has died and four other people have been injured this Saturday following a head-on collision between two cars in Alcúdia. The Emergency Medical Service (SAMU 061) confirmed that, despite attempts to stabilize him at the scene of the accident, one of the occupants died due to the severity of his injuries. Another injured person was transferred in critical condition to Son Espases University Hospital (HUSE) with severe polytrauma. The other three injured, with less serious injuries, were taken to Inca Hospital and Manacor Hospital. To attend to the accident, 061 deployed two Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, which attended to the two most seriously injured, as well as two Basic Life Support (BLS) units, which transported the three with minor injuries. A Rapid Intervention Vehicle (RIV) also responded.
On the other hand, three people sustained minor injuries in two traffic accidents on the Ponent motorway. In the first incident, one of the drivers collided with a Civil Guard vehicle that was responding to a crash. The collisions occurred this Saturday around 4:20 a.m. at kilometer 12 of the Ma-1 motorway, heading towards Andratx, near the Palmanova exit. SAMU 061 reported that the first accident involved a collision between two cars, with two people injured. An Advanced Life Support ambulance and a Basic Life Support ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
While the injured were being attended to, a third car collided with the Civil Guard vehicle, which was also at the scene, requiring another Basic Life Support ambulance. The first two injured people were taken to Son Espases Hospital and the third to the Rotger Clinic; all are reported to have less serious injuries.
