PalmaA plea bargain before the trial has saved a man from going to prison who has admitted to having mistreated, raped, and assaulted a 14-year-old girl. The case began years ago, specifically in 2019, when the man, who at that time was 21 years old, was in a romantic relationship with the victim, the 14-year-old minor.
As he admitted to the Provincial Court, throughout the course of the relationship the man mistreated her both verbally and physically with blows and beatings, and on one occasion sexually abused her. In fact, he explained that it was one day in the month of June of that same year that, after the minor's refusal to have sexual relations, the accused hit her, took off all her clothes, and raped her.
The agreement has saved the man from entering prison, as he has been sentenced to only two years (compared to the 29 initially requested by the prosecution) and since he has no criminal record, he will not have to enter the penitentiary center. The aggressor has also been ordered to pay 25,000 euros to the victim, 14 days of community service, and to pay a fine of 480 euros.
