Palma will host conferences on family law with Supreme Court magistrates and legal experts
The ICAIB will be the venue, on May 28 and 29, for a meeting organized by Aeafa and Scaf that will address issues such as child protection, custody, criminal jurisprudence, and international family law
PalmaThe Illustrious College of Lawyers of the Balearic Islands (ICAIB) will host next May 28 and 29 specialized conferences on family law organized jointly by the Spanish Association of Family Lawyers (Aeafa) and the Catalan Society of Family Lawyers (SCAF). The meeting will take place at the headquarters of the ICAIB, on Rambla de Palma, and can be followed both in person and online.
The sessions will bring together magistrates from the Supreme Court, provincial courts and lower courts, as well as prosecutors and specialized lawyers, to address some of the main legal challenges related to family, childhood and violence against women.
The inauguration will take place on Thursday the 28th in the afternoon with a lecture by the Supreme Court magistrate Antonio del Moral García on family law issues in criminal jurisprudence. Subsequently, controversial procedural aspects in this matter will be analyzed and an open forum will be held with representatives of the judiciary and the prosecution services of the Balearic Islands.
Among the planned topics are also the application of the law of second opportunity in the family sphere, the execution of the visitation regime when minors refuse to live with one of the parents, the figure of the child lawyer and international family law.
Second day
The second day will include presentations by Judge Luis Rodríguez Vega, of the Provincial Court of Barcelona; Judge Rosalía Fernández Alaya, of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas, and a dialogue on real cases of international family law with former judge Joaquim Bayo Delgado and the president of Aeafa, María Dolores López-Muelas.
The conferences are mainly aimed at legal professionals and have a registration fee of 130 euros for members of Aeafa, Scaf, and ICAIB, and 175 euros for the rest of attendees. An optional dinner has also been organized for participants.
Technical organization is handled by Libertas Ediciones. Additionally, accommodation options have been provided near the Bar Association for attendees traveling from outside Mallorca.
