Salvem Portocolom denounces that the Nautical Club has installed a permanent barrier on the dock
The organization criticizes the Nautical Club for having located this permanent facility at the Customs dock and not on its floating pontoon during the tourist season.
PalmSalvem Portocolom denounced on Tuesday the installation of a permanent barrier in the port by the Nautical Club. The organization pointed out that the area is a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC), citing the visual impact and size of the installation. "It's high time the Nautical Club fixed the gate to its floating dock during the tourist season, and not to the Customs Wharf year-round," the environmental group stated on social media. It's worth noting that the Portocolom boatyards and docks were declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) in the category of ethnological site in February of last year. This recognition highlights the historical and cultural value of these traditional structures, which are among the most representative examples of Mallorca's port architecture.
