A snake bites a police officer when he was trying to capture it in a dwelling in Palma

PalmaA Local Police officer from Palma was slightly injured this Wednesday evening after being bitten by a snake during an intervention in a dwelling in the Son Ferriol neighborhood.
The events took place at 8:20 PM, when an off-duty police officer alerted that the occupants of a property on Llorenç Frau street had located the reptile inside the house and required assistance to remove it, as reported by the Palma Local Police.
Once at the residence, the patrols interviewed the resident, who explained that they had managed to confine the animal to the laundry area to prevent it from escaping.
The officers accessed the room and, with the appropriate safety measures, managed to capture the snake without causing it harm. However, at the moment it was temporarily placed inside a transport bag, the animal bit one of the officers on the arm.
After the intervention, the necessary arrangements were made to coordinate the transfer of the reptile to the Municipal Animal Protection Health Center, where it was admitted for custody and subsequent veterinary assessment. The injured officer was treated for minor injuries.
