PalmThe initial reception center set up by the Consell de Mallorca in the former Son Tous barracks, which has been operational for two weeks, is now receiving its first unaccompanied migrant children. This was explained by the president of the Mallorcan Institute of Social Affairs (IMAS), Guillermo Sánchez, this Wednesday at the IMAS Governing Council meeting, according to a press release from the island institution.

Thus, Sánchez reported the arrival of the first unaccompanied foreign minors at the new emergency facility set up in Sou Tous, a system implemented to provide an immediate response to the increase in arrivals and organize initial care within the child protection system. The president of IMAS called on the Spanish government to "assume its responsibility" regarding migration. "It is essential that the government act to prevent further arrivals and, in any case, provide Mallorca with more economic, material, and technical resources to guarantee the sustainability of the child protection system," he stated.

Prices of residential placements

The Governing Council has approved the draft regulations for establishing, managing, and collecting public fees for residential and day care places for seniors managed by IMAS. They emphasized that this approval represents a step forward in organizing and updating the regulatory framework governing these services. The goal is to ensure clearer, more consistent management that is better adapted to the current realities of the senior care system.
