PalmThe STOP Evictions association reported this Thursday that the National Police are cutting off power to families living in substandard housing rented by a local police officer in Palma. According to Europa Press, the group told the media that police officers, accompanied by an electrician, went to the homes located at 24 Joan Miró Street to cut off power to the people who are "being besieged" by the owner of the storage units where they live. This Monday the evictions were stopped of two people living in these storage rooms owned by a local police officer from Palma who was sanctioned by the Government for renting out these substandard homes.

The eviction is believed to be motivated by the agent's non-payment of the rent charged for these properties, which were used as illegal housing, since the payments were made in cash and the owner currently has a restraining order against the building.

It's worth remembering that the police officer was fined two million euros for renting out those 68 substandard homes and was arrested for the same offense.
