Storm Kirstin leaves more than 100 incidents in the Balearic Islands, most of them in Ibiza

The Balearic Islands' 112 emergency service has ended its special emergency response operation to deal with incidents in Ibiza.

PalmThe 112 Emergency Coordination Center handled a total of 109 incidents between Wednesday at 12:00 PM and Thursday at 6:00 AM due to the effects of Storm Kristin. According to Emergency Services, the majority of incidents occurred in Ibiza, totaling 65, while 30 were in Mallorca and 14 in Formentera.

Of the incidents across the Balearic Islands, 25 were tree falls, 18 of which were considered hazardous; 22 were reports of trees falling onto roads; 15 of urban elements falling; nine were reports of liquid obstacles on roads; and six were reports of flooding on public roads. The Balearic Islands' 112 emergency service concluded its special operation Thursday afternoon to address the incidents in Ibiza caused by strong winds. According to the service, a yellow alert (level 0 severity of the Meteobal Plan) for coastal phenomena remains in effect for all the islands. Furthermore, a yellow alert for strong winds also remains in place for Menorca, and therefore, emergency services urge the public to follow safety recommendations and call 112 if necessary.
