The ambulances of the Balearic Islands are going on strike
The call affects urgent and non-urgent medical transport, the emergency call center, and the scheduled transport management center
PalmThe union representatives of the IB-Salut ambulances have registered a strike call in the four islands to demand labor improvements and the fulfillment of pending agreements. As reported this Monday by the union representatives, the stoppages will take place on June 16, 19, 24, and 26 between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM and between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, while from June 29 onwards, an indefinite 24-hour strike will begin if no progress is made in negotiations.
The call affects urgent and non-urgent medical transport, as well as the emergency center and the scheduled transport management center of the Balearic Islands. Among the demands are the negotiation of the job position list and remuneration supplements, the rejection of the absorption of salary mass to convert it into an insularity supplement, the payment of pending amounts derived from court rulings and agreements, and the recognition of daily allowances for workers who work 12-hour shifts.
The unions have pointed out that the modification of working hours applied by the company in January of this year, which replaced 7.5-hour shifts with 12-hour ones, forces employees to incur maintenance expenses that, according to them, have not yet been compensated.
The inter-center committee of the company Gestió Sanitària Assistencial de les Balears (GSAIB) is made up of the unions FS-TES, USAE, CCOO, CGT, CSIF, and UGT.
