The Balearic Islands had one tourist for every two residents in July.
On the 30th, the maximum population was reached, with more than two million people.

PalmThe effective population of the Balearic Islands averaged 1.96 million people in July, 56% above the number of residents. This figure means there was one tourist for every two inhabitants registered on the islands. This is evident from data from the Human Pressure Indicator of the Balearic Institute of Statistics (Ibestat), which establishes that the maximum actual population (residents and tourists) was reached on July 30th, with more than two million people, 0.6% less than in 2024. On the other hand, the minimum recorded was 1.2% in 2024, reported the EFE news agency.
Mallorca's daily average was more than 1.4 million people, 0.04% more than a year earlier. Formentera also grew, with an increase of 3.8%. In Ibiza, human pressure decreased by 4.48% (291,185 people) compared to July 2024, and in Menorca it decreased by 0.05% (200,405 inhabitants).
The number of national and international tourists visiting the Balearic Islands in July totaled 3,058,899, an increase of 0.82% compared to 2024 (492,458 came from other autonomous communities and 2,566,441 were foreigners). From January to July, 10,985,101 tourists arrived in the Balearic Islands, a figure that represents a new record with an increase of 2.54% compared to last year (1,994,619 from other autonomous communities and 8,990,482 foreigners). Mallorca saw nearly 200,000 more tourists arrive than last year between January and July: up from 7,687,292 to 7,884,814. Menorca received 993,640 (928,643 in the first seven months of 2024), and Ibiza and Formentera 2,106,645 (2,097,67 last year).
It should be noted that these figures refer to tourists who stay overnight on the islands and do not include day visitors, such as cruise ship passengers. The Platform Against Megacruises has made a forecast for 2025, based on data from the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands: by the end of the year, 541 cruise ships will have arrived in Palma, disembarking more than 1.8 million passengers, which must be added to the total number of visitors reported by Ibestat.
Tourist rentals, the fastest-growing accommodation
