PalmHealthcare transport workers in the Balearic Islands have announced new mobilizations during this month of April to demand payment of various pending salary increases and the updating of payrolls. The call comes after the USO union denounced accumulated non-payments at the public company Gestión Sanitaria y Asistencial de las Islas Baleares (GSAIB).

According to the union, workers have not yet received salary increases corresponding to several years, between 2020 and 2025, despite the fact that some of these increases are already recognized by court rulings or signed agreements. They also assure that some of the applied increases have been calculated incorrectly, which has generated salary differences that have also not been paid.

Added to this situation is the fact that payrolls have not been updated this year and that the agreed-upon 33% increase in the insularity supplement has not been applied either. For this reason, workers are demanding payment of arrears, salary updates, and compliance with agreements.

This is not the first time GSAIB staff have mobilized. Last summer, protests took place that affected the service, after workers stopped working overtime and tasks that did not correspond to them, which led to the cancellation of various healthcare transport services.

Now, with the new mobilizations planned for this month of April, the group hopes to force a solution to a situation that, according to their complaints, has been dragging on for years.
