The jury recognizes the task of Joves de Mallorca per la Llengua for bringing the defense of Catalan to the networks with an "innovative and creative" campaign
PalmThe Correllengua has been recognized with the CRIT Award for best digital campaign, an award that highlights the work of dissemination and defense of Catalan that this initiative also promotes on social networks and in digital environments. The organization has celebrated the award, stating that behind “every publication, video, poster, event, and shared story there are many hours of collective work”.
The CRIT Awards recognize outstanding projects and initiatives in the field of communication and digital content creation in Catalan. In the case of Correllengua, the jury valued “an innovative, creative campaign with a great capacity for impact in the digital environment”.
Correllengua is an initiative promoted by Joves de Mallorca per la Llengua, an entity founded in 1994 with the aim of promoting the social use of Catalan among young people and defending the language and culture of the Balearic Islands. The association is especially known for organizing Acampallengua, the festive and demanding gathering that annually brings together hundreds of young people in defense of the Catalan language.
In this context, Correllengua has consolidated itself as one of the entity's most visible actions. Inspired by similar initiatives from other Catalan-speaking territories, it combines cultural events, popular activities, and social mobilization with the aim of reclaiming the Catalan language throughout Mallorca.
In recent years, the initiative has particularly strengthened its digital presence, with campaigns on social networks, audiovisual content, and awareness-raising actions aimed at young people. It is precisely this commitment to transferring the defense of Catalan also to the virtual space that has now been distinguished with the CRIT Award.
From Correllengua they have emphasized that the award represents “a boost” to continue working in favor of the language and have claimed the role of networks as a key space to connect with new generations and convey the message in defense of Catalan.
