Cort will only require a responsible declaration to grant new construction permits.
The proposal will be voted on in the plenary session next Thursday.
PalmThe PP and Vox in Palma City Council have supported the possibility of starting construction work in Ciutat with only a declaration of responsibility, without first having to go through the Urban Planning Department.
The administrative modification was voted on during the meeting of the Urban Planning and Environment Commission held this Friday, during which a proposal submitted via urgent means to discuss this issue was debated.
Specifically, the proposal seeks to urge the City Council to implement the declaration of responsibility as a requirement for authorizing the start of new construction, although it may subsequently be reviewed by the Urban Planning Department. Vox has confirmed that the PP, along with them, voted in favor of the initiative, which will be brought to the municipal plenary session next Thursday for a final vote.
The far-right party justifies the measure by the need to simplify procedures to move forward quickly with housing construction. Vox proposes that the preliminary report that the City Council normally sends to the developer if documentation is missing also include a feasibility report or verification of the urban planning file, so as to notify whether the project complies with urban planning.
If so, the developer could be allowed to proceed with only a declaration of responsibility in which they commit to ensuring that the project will comply with the technical building code, the Habitability Decree, the health and safety study, energy efficiency, waste management, and structural justification.
