PalmThe fourth week of this year's medical strike, which on Tuesday reaches its second day, has maintained a compliance of around 80% in hospital outpatient clinics and 50% in primary care in the Balearic Islands. According to data provided by the medical union Simebal, participation rises to 90% in services such as anesthesiology, radiology, and a large part of surgical activity, while among resident internal physicians (MIR) it remains around 65%.

The medical union has positively assessed these compliance levels, considering the "accumulated wear and tear" of professionals after months of conflict and despite the high minimum services imposed by IB-Salut. "This is not stopping," Simebal remarked.

According to the union organization, the conflict remains open due to the lack of effective negotiation by the central government to establish a specific Framework Statute for the medical collective. This fourth week of strike in 2026 will end on Thursday with a rally in front of Can Misses Hospital in Ibiza (11:00 AM) and another in the Plaza de la Reina in Palma (6:30 PM).
