PalmGarcía is the predominant lineage in nine municipalities in Mallorca. After centuries where towns had distinctive and distinct lineages, and you could almost tell from a person's lineage what municipality they were from, globalization seems to have also reached the lineages of Mallorcans, with a clear example: García.

In fact, according to the study conducted by the Instagram account Bean Head with Ears According to Ibestat data, this lineage is the most common in 20.93% of Mallorcan municipalities. Second in the ranking is Oliver, which is the most common in three Mallorcan municipalities. We then find up to six repeated lineages in two municipalities (Coll, Martorell, Perelló, Riera, Barceló, and Cañellas), while in the remaining towns, the most common lineage is unique to the town.

With the exception of a few specific cases, such as García and López, among others, most of the lineages cited on the map are those that have existed generation after generation in the Mallorcan municipalities, with a clear dependence on Catalan.

Although García is by far the most predominant among the rest, many Mallorcans have written in the comments to the publication, expressing pride in the fact that "a Catalan-speaking and traditional lineage" continues to predominate in their municipality. Others criticize the fact that lineages like García and López are "invading Mallorca and wiping out the lineages here."
