The SFM committee demands that the Government reach an agreement similar to the one the State has with the unions.
The works council and the government will meet again this Thursday after a week of stalled negotiations.
PalmThe works council of Mallorca Railway Services (SFM) expressed confidence that the safety measures proposed by the company's management would be aligned with those agreed between the Ministry of Transport, Adif, Renfe and the state trade union organizations.
Both parties will meet again this Thursday (10:30 a.m.), a week after their last meeting, so that management can present its proposals. The works council, in a statement, defended the need for these new measures adopted by SFM to be aligned with the national agreement, which foresees increased investment in maintenance and infrastructure, as well as the internalization and strengthening of critical safety functions. It also includes the creation of a traffic safety committee and the establishment of protocols and incident tracking systems. These, they emphasized, are the four pillars of the document with 48 proposals that they submitted to management. "If the State considers it a priority to strengthen railway safety through internalization, investment, and the establishment of protocols, SFM cannot be left out of this commitment," the workers' legal representatives stated.
