The strike at the Son Reus landfill continues due to lack of agreement at Tamib
UGT regrets that the mediation carried out this Thursday at the arbitration court has concluded without an agreement
PalmaUGT public services continues with the strike call at the Son Reus kennel, scheduled for next Monday, in protest against precarious working conditions at the Palma animal care center, as no agreement was reached at the meeting before the Arbitration Court, Tamib. The union has regretted that the mediation carried out this Thursday at the arbitration court – as a prior step in any strike call – has concluded without an agreement.
The union has regretted that the situation could not be unblocked, after months denouncing the precariousness of the staff "in all aspects of salaries and in terms of occupational risk prevention", without "absolutely no one having done or solved anything", indicated an affected worker.
UGT considers it frustrating that neither the Palma City Council nor the contracting company are assuming responsibility for seeking a solution and "ending a conflict that should shame them".
UGT recalled that the workers of Son Reus provide "a specialized and essential service, covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round, for just the minimum interprofessional wage and without even drinking water for their consumption at the workplace". "It is at least shameful", concludes the union, which maintains the call for a strike from Monday at 2:00 p.m.
