The young man arrested for skippering a small boat tries to escape from the Palma police station.

PalmThe young man who was detained as the alleged captain of a migrant boat attempted to flee from the Balearic Islands Police Headquarters in Palma, where he was being held.

Police sources explained that the arrested man fled this Saturday at around 7:00 p.m. through a window on the first floor of the Headquarters, taking advantage of the moment when his statement was being taken by his lawyer.

Once outside, he attempted to flee but was intercepted by a citizen, and National Police officers arrested him. He was later treated by an ambulance that arrived at the scene. Initial intervention did not detect any serious injuries, although he was taken to a medical center for examination and evaluation.
