PalmaThe organization Alarm Phone has alerted about the disappearance of a boat with 29 migrants on board that was heading towards Mallorca. According to what the entity reported in a message published on the social network X, the vessel departed on Sunday from the coasts of Boumerdés, in Algeria, and since then there has been no further news of it.
The relatives of the people traveling on board have conveyed their concern to the members of this support organization for migrants. Alarm Phone has confirmed that Maritime Rescue has already been alerted to the disappearance.
This is the third boat reported missing this week while heading towards the Balearic Islands. On Monday, Alarm Phone had already alerted to the disappearance of two small boats that had set off on October 4th and 6th with 17 and six people on board, respectively.
Maritime Rescue conducted overflights to the south of the Balearic Islands to try to locate these two vessels, but the search efforts did not yield positive results. Now, the new alert once again puts the focus on the people crossing the Western Mediterranean to reach the Islands.
