This is the seabed of Mallorca that you can see live from home

PalmaIB3 and IB-Red have launched an initiative that combines technology, communication, and dissemination of the natural heritage of the Balearic Islands, for the live broadcast of the seabed of the marine reserve of Ponent de Mallorca, around the islet of Toro, in Calvià. As IB3 explained this Tuesday, the project makes an audiovisual window to the seabed available to citizens, accessible from any device – mobile, tablet, or computer – which allows real-time observation of the biodiversity of a protected natural space.

The objective is to bring the natural heritage of the Balearic Islands closer to all citizens and facilitate access to an environment that can normally only be observed through diving. The camera allows us to contemplate the seabed at a depth of about five meters and discover, live, the life that lives in this protected area. According to the public entity, the proposal is designed to open the doors to underwater wealth to the elderly or people who cannot practice underwater activities. The live broadcast is also part of the dissemination actions prior to the premiere of the documentary "Blue Archipelago next September.

The project's central focus is the visualization of the richness of the marine fauna and ecosystems of the Islands and the generation of greater awareness. The public entity has highlighted that the live signal is already openly available on IB3's digital platforms.
