The unions plan to continue the strikes on Wednesday and do not rule out an indefinite strike.

PalmUnions and employers remain estranged after the second day of 24-hour strikes by TIB workers in Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza, and are heading toward a third day this Wednesday and a possible indefinite strike starting Friday. TIB workers, however, celebrated the successful turnout, with up to 93% of the strikers participating in the second day of strikes on Monday, which continued without incident until the afternoon.

SATI union spokesperson Juan Rodríguez emphasized that official monitoring data has increased by around ten percentage points compared to the first day, which took place last Friday.

Union representatives went to the depots early in the morning to inform workers and verify compliance with the established minimum service level of 60%. Afterward, Rodríguez indicated, they gathered at the Palma Intermodal Station. Regarding negotiations with employers, the SATI spokesperson acknowledged that they have not made much progress despite the contacts the Ministry of Labor has held with both parties over the weekend.

Therefore, they believe it will be "very difficult" to resolve the situation before Wednesday, the date on which the third day of 24-hour strikes is scheduled. If the situation continues in this way in the coming days, the workers intend to call an indefinite strike. The president of the Balearic Federation of Transport Companies (FEBT), Petra Mut, lamented the effects the strike may have had on users of the TIB.

Mut stated that they are studying a formula to try to establish positions, but insisted that the companies are bound by public concessions that will not expire until 2030. "Out of social responsibility, we must open dialogue, but we don't know how," she acknowledged. Despite the efforts of the Regional Ministry, this has not been possible so far. No meeting is scheduled for this Tuesday, so if nothing changes, she estimated, Wednesday's strike will go ahead and the indefinite strike will be closer.
