PalmTIB workers, on an indefinite strike since last Friday, protested today at the Palma airport bus stop and distributed leaflets to passengers with their main demands. They continue their protests, explaining in writing in English and Spanish that they are on strike because their employment situation "borders on precariousness," forcing them to work more than 12 hours a day, or because they want "a fair pay rise," as their wages "have been frozen for more than a decade."

They also explain that they are "tired of having to do the work of two people" and that they want to be able to balance work and life without "standing at attention on the bus all day." They also assert that they want to provide a quality service and "not in precarious conditions due to a lack of staff."

This Sunday, the SATI union criticized the government and employers for having "been on vacation" while passengers suffer the effects of the indefinite strike on the island's buses. Thus, they criticized the lack of "a single call or an outreach" since the last meeting. "They seem to care little about the consequences the strike may have on the public; they must think that everyone else doesn't work on weekends either," they criticized.

Attendance at the TIB strike this Monday has rebounded to 97% after slightly declining over the weekend. Sources from the Ministry of Housing, Territory, and Mobility confirmed the attendance figure for this Monday, which is one of the highest recorded since the protests began. On Sunday, on the other hand, the number of workers who joined the strike was 90%, slightly lower than in previous days, but still higher than the first days of protest.
