Tragic accident in Valldemossa: 36-year-old tourist dies while waiting for the bus that knocked down a lamppost on him

PalmaA tourist of Syrian nationality, 36 years old, died this Monday in Valldemossa after a bus from the TIB interurban service hit a lamppost that ended up falling on several people waiting at a stop. The accident occurred around 3:42 PM and also left three people injured.

The SAMU 061 Emergency services attended to the tourist, who suffered injuries incompatible with life and died at the scene. His partner, a 30-year-old woman, was also at the stop and had to be attended by paramedics after suffering an anxiety attack.

Another woman, 42 years old and a resident of Mallorca, was injured with a moderately serious thoracic trauma. She was subsequently transferred by ambulance to Juaneda Hospital. The bus driver also received assistance from emergency services after suffering a panic attack following the accident.

The events occurred when the bus collided with a lamppost located in the area of the interurban service stop. As a consequence of the impact, the structure fell on the people who were waiting for the bus. Emergency services were dispatched to the accident site to attend to the victims and secure the area.
