CostichoCostitx Town Council has launched a new tourism campaign to promote local heritage and culture. Titled "Welcome to Costitx," the council has promoted a video campaign on social media and informational posters placed in different locations throughout the town.
Following the thread of the environmental awareness campaign "Love Your Town," in which the town's own residents were the protagonists, this batch of heritage videos now features various residents of the town explaining each of the town's ten representative sites.
The first video to be made public is by Apol lònia Crespí, who speaks to us and introduces us to the town's Illustrious Daughter, Margalida Cativa.
Bernat Ramis, Councilor for Tourism, explains that "we wanted it to be the people of the town, those who know it, who could explain to the visitor every detail of the different places." He also adds that "it is a proposal aimed at visitors to Costitx, so that people who come have the opportunity to learn more about the place where they are."
That is why these videos on social networks are also accompanied by information panels hung in the 10 locations in the municipality: Plaza del Jardín, Plaza de la Virgen, Ca na Cativa, Chapel of the Virgin, the cisterns, the waterwheel, the Comuna, Turassot, Son Corró and the hiking routes that can be found as a starting point in the garden square.
Thus, archaeological, religious, ethnological heritage and hiking routes show visitors the essence of Costitx. These panels are accompanied by a QR code that links to videos explaining the site.
