How to request the 10,000 euros from the Government to buy your first home in the Balearic Islands

The aid is aimed at people up to 40 years of age who have resided in the Islands for at least five years and buy a home up to 382,000 euros

The Government will open this Friday, July 17, the period for young residents of the Balearic Islands to apply for aid of 10,000 euros to buy their first home. The call is aimed at people up to 40 years old with a minimum of five years of residence in the Balearic Islands and for homes with a maximum price of 382,000 euros. The aid will also cover purchases formalized from January 1, 2026.

The call has a budget of six million euros, financed with the Government's own funds. Applications can be submitted from July 17, 2026, to December 31, 2027.

To access the aid, you must be up to 40 years old (inclusive), have resided for a minimum of five years in the Balearic Islands immediately before submitting the application, have bought or be in the process of buying a home from January 1, 2026, intend to use it as a habitual and permanent residence for a minimum of five years, not own any other home, and the purchase price must not exceed 382,000 euros. The aid also includes homes under construction.

Regarding income, it cannot exceed 6.5 times the IPREM (54,600 euros); the limit is raised to seven times the IPREM (58,800 euros) for general category large families, people with disabilities, and victims of terrorism, and to 7.5 times the IPREM (63,000 euros) for special category large families, victims of gender-based violence, and people with a disability rating of over 33%.

The aid is compatible with tax benefits for the property transfer tax (ITP) and documented legal acts (AJD), as well as with the IBAVI's New Young Mortgage. According to the Government, the sum of these measures can reach 93,000 euros, an amount that the buyer would not have to contribute at the time of acquisition.

The measure is part of the Government's shock plan to facilitate residents' access to housing, which includes aid for purchase and rent, tax reductions, and the new young mortgage.
