Unemployment rises 1.9% year-on-year in September in the Balearic Islands and affiliation 4.5%

PalmaThe State Public Employment Service (SEPE) has recorded 26,547 unemployed in September in the Balearic Islands, 493 more than the same month of the previous year, which represents a rise of 1.9%, while Social Security affiliation has increased by 4.5% year-on-year, with 29,079 more, up to 684,064.

Compared to the previous month, unemployment has risen by 841 people, almost 3.3% more in the archipelago, in the middle of the high tourist season, according to data published this Wednesday by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.

With 682,486 Social Security affiliates, the Balearic Islands have lost 11,326 compared to August, 1.6%, according to data from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.
