Alaró hosts the third edition of the 'Passionate Way of the Cross'

AlaróThe Parish of Sant Bartomeu de Alaró was the setting this Saturday for the third edition of the 'Via Crucis Apasionante', a cultural spectacle that offers a contemporary look at the Passion of Christ. This initiative follows previous editions held in La Misericòrdia (Palma) and in Sineu, establishing itself as an annual event within the Easter program in Mallorca.

The play, by the company Pinyol Vermell, combines theater, photography, and music with a performance by eight actors on stage. The costumes are inspired by the 18th century, including characters such as Jesus, Mary, and Mary Magdalene, and the show covers the main episodes of the Passion, from the entry into Jerusalem to the resurrection, with an approximate duration of 50 minutes.

The Holy Week programming will continue in Palma and Sineu with concerts such as Donizetti's 'Messa di Requiem' at the Teatro Principal and the participation of the Joc de Ministrils in various processions. Furthermore, the IV Photographic Exhibition of Holy Week in Palma is open at La Misericordia, showing a contemporary vision of the celebration through the lenses of fifteen photographers.
