Become a friend of the Miró Foundation to experience it from within and in company.
The Friends, Patrons and Benefactors program of the Miró Mallorca Foundation is open to everyone who wishes to share unique experiences, discover the work from privileged perspectives and actively support Miró's legacy on the island.
PalmThe Fundació Miró Mallorca is taking a step forward and reaching out to the public with the Friends Program, a proposal that aims to transform the art center into a shared, lived-in space. It's not just about visiting the exhibitions, but about feeling part of a cultural community linked to the legacy of Joan Miró and Pilar Juncosa.
"Becoming a friend, first and foremost, is being part of the Miró club; it's a way of showing a desire to be close to Miró," explains the Foundation's director, Antonia Maria Perelló. With this initiative, the institution aims to forge connections and create a network of people who recognize themselves in the spaces, in the work, and also in their passion for art.
An open cultural community
The Friends Program aims to grow and involve people who want to contribute to the cultural development of the Balearic Islands. It's not just about enjoying exclusive benefits—free admission, discounts, private activities, or guided tours with curators and artists—but rather about feeling part of a shared project.
"Anyone who becomes a friend of the Miró Mallorca Foundation will be part of a group, like a family that gathers around the legacy the artist left in Mallorca, helping to strengthen it," Perelló emphasizes. The idea is for each member to experience art from the inside: attending tours of exhibitions before they open to the public, sharing cultural trips, visiting artists' studios, and enjoying a meeting with other culture lovers, among other opportunities.
The director sums it up clearly: "I want to get to know the people up close, to be able to connect with the people who are close to me. This is a group of like-minded people, who are in tune with the Foundation."
Giving the Foundation back to the people
The initiative has already sparked interest. Both Mallorcans and foreign residents have signed up for the proposal, finding it attractive as a meeting place and place for sharing cultural experiences. The objective is clear, according to Perelló: "to bring the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation back to Mallorca, to the local people, to people who love culture and art." The program is, therefore, a way to preserve cultural heritage while simultaneously promoting new artistic projects. Every contribution, whether modest or more ambitious, has a direct impact on the vitality of this space, which combines Miró's original studios with contemporary creation.
Three modalities for three commitments
The Friends Program is structured into three categories, allowing participation to be tailored to each individual's commitment and capabilities: Friend, with a contribution of €40 per year, includes free and unlimited admission to all exhibitions, two complimentary annual tickets, exclusive visits with curators and artists, and a 5% Friends of the Foundation membership. Patrons, who contribute €400 or more per year, in addition to the Friends benefits, receive 10 gift tickets per year, a 10% discount in the shop, public recognition on the website and in the Annual Report, a free snack for four people, and the opportunity to visit artists' studios. Benefactors, on the other hand, are individuals or companies that make an annual contribution of more than 4,000 euros and, in addition to those already mentioned, receive exclusive benefits: 15 annual tickets to give away, free entry with four companions, preferential registration for cultural trips, a 15% discount in the store, and even the entire use of the Auditorium for the Foundation's own activities.
It's worth being a friend of the Foundation.
Beyond the list of benefits, the essence of the Program is experiencing the Foundation from within. Being part of it means joining a collective experience that combines art, memory, and contemporary creation. It also means supporting a project that has turned Miró's legacy into one of the island's cultural driving forces.
For many, being a Friend of the Foundation is a way to approach art more intensely, to witness special moments and share them with a like-minded community. For others, it's a form of commitment to culture, a gesture to ensure that the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation in Mallorca remains alive and well.
The invitation is open: everyone is welcome, whether with the basic Friend fee, the generosity of a Patron, or the broader commitment of a Benefactor. What counts is joining forces to keep alive a unique space where creativity and commitment go hand in hand.
