Edward Berger, Iris Berben and Matthew Libatique, recognized at the 15th edition of the Evolution Mallorca
The event will take place from October 28 to November 4 and will have Marc Clotet as president of the jury
PalmaThe Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival (EMIFF) will celebrate its 15th edition from October 28th to November 4th, 2026, and has announced the main awards and protagonists of the event at a preliminary act held at the INNSiDE Calviá Beach hotel.
The Austrian director and producer Edward Berger will receive the 2026 Evolution VISION Award. Berger achieved international prominence with All Quiet on the Western Front (2022), which won four Oscar awards, and subsequently directed Conclave (2024). The festival will host a special screening of Fatherland, followed by a talk with Berger and Jeanne Tremsal.
The German actress Iris Berben will be the first recipient of the Evolution ICON Award, which she will receive during the inaugural gala on October 28th at the Palma Convention Centre.
Also featuring in the fifth edition of Cinematography Focus will be the cinematographer Matthew Libatique, who will receive the Cinematography ICON Award. Libatique has been nominated for Oscars on several occasions and is known for his work in contemporary cinema.
In addition, the actor and producer Marc Clotet will chair the jury for the 15th edition of the festival. Clotet previously participated in the first edition of the event, where he presented The Sleeping Voice.
