Laura Pons wins the Balearic Theatres award for best female performer

The award for best male performer went to Rodó Gener, Xavi Núñez and Salvador Oliva for 'Cyrano'

PalmaThe Minorcan actress Laura Pons has been awarded the ATAPIB 2025 prize for best female performer for her role in the play Laura, at the twentieth edition of the awards gala of the Association of Public Theatres and Auditoriums of the Balearic Islands (ATAPIB), which was held at the Teatre Principal in Inca.

The ceremony, hosted by communicators Inès Mateu and Xisco Nadal, recognized various theatrical initiatives and the careers of performing arts professionals from the Balearic Islands.

The award to Pons marks the culmination of over 60 years of stage career, with a performance in an intimate comedy that has also been nominated for best theatrical production. The play is a co-production of Posada Produccions and the Fundació Teatre Principal de Maó, directed by Marga López and with dramaturgy by Rafel Gallego and David Mataró.

In the other categories, the award for best male performer went to Rodó Gener, Xavi Núñez, and Salvador Oliva for Cyrano, while Rafel Duran was honored as best director for Chocolate, a play for which Rafel Gallego also received the award for best dramaturgy.

The award for best show went to L'arquitecte, by Produccions de Ferro, and the special ATAPIB 2025 award recognized Joan Gomila's career as a playwright, actor, director, and cultural manager.

The gala ended with a performance by the Mallorcan singer Maria Hein, who closed the evening with a musical proposal that combines folk-rooted pop and who on this occasion presented a show accompanied only by piano.
