Mobofest says goodbye

PalmThe latest edition of Mobofesto It will take place on July 23, 24, and 25. This was announced on Friday by the festival organizers, who also announced the end of the project that began in 2017.

"This will be the last edition of the Pla festival, but we can't say goodbye without one last dance, as we're also celebrating our tenth anniversary and want to celebrate with the people who have been by our side," Mobofest sources stated. Therefore, in a press release issued this Friday announcing the festival's end, they also announced that the closing ceremony will take place where it all began: on Mount Consolació in Sant Joan.

"What started as a small village festival has ended up being an international festival organized by a group of friends who have never abandoned their initial idea: to offer a space in Pla de Mallorca so that local groups with their own songs can perform live concerts," they point out.

During this decade, the following have passed through Mobo More than sixty Balearic bands, the vast majority of which sing in Catalan, have performed at Mobofest. The festival's stages have witnessed the rise and growth of bands like Da Souza, Fades, María Jaime, Ánimos Parrec, Bilo, Caspary, Reina, Maria Hein, Alanaire, and many more. "But it has also allowed the Pla de Mallorca region to see artists like Amaia, Julieta Venegas, Templos, and La Bien Querida perform there—something unimaginable just a few years ago," they point out. "Now, with great sadness, it's time to say goodbye," they acknowledge. The first batch of tickets is already on sale.
