PalmaThe Magaluf Expanded Literature Festival (FLEM) has announced the first literary residency in the town, a program offering two ten-day creation grants for writers working in Catalan and English. The residences will take place at the Innside Calvià Beach hotel and include accommodation, travel, an economic endowment of 500 euros, and participation in the next edition of the festival. The deadline for submitting applications will be open until June 15, and applications must be sent through the form available on the event's website.the event's website.

The program includes two distinct places: one aimed at writers residing habitually in Spain – emerging or established – who are developing a current literary project in Catalan; and another for authors based in the United Kingdom who have previously published in English and are currently working on a project in English.

With this initiative, driven by FLEM – organized by the independent bookstore Rata Corner and the hotel brand Innside by Meliá – the festival reinforces its commitment to literary creation processes and to emerging generations of authors.

The event thus aims to consolidate Magaluf as a space that not only hosts the dissemination and celebration of literature, but also its production and support for contemporary writing. In this regard, the residency aims to offer real conditions for creative work – time, concentration, and context – and to place creation at the center of the festival's cultural ecosystem. Furthermore, residents will be able to learn about the local cultural and literary scene and will participate in the professional workshops of FLEM 2026, immediately after finishing their stay, in a transition between the time of creation and the space for meeting and exchange.
