PalmThe short documentary filmThe images arrived on timeThe short film, directed by Goya Award winner Jaume Carrió and produced by Far Visuals in collaboration with the Esporles City Council, will be the only Balearic short film nominated for the 2026 Goya Awards. Within the Best Documentary Short Film category, the film is one of 18 candidates selected by the Academy, which will then choose the five official nominees. The nominations will be announced at the end of the year, and the Goya Awards ceremony will take place in Barcelona on February 28.

The production company explained that the date of this announcement, October 29, has a particularly symbolic value, since this Wednesday marks one year since the Valencia DANA storm, an event that directly inspired the documentary.The images arrived on timeIt reflects on collective memory, human fragility, and the power of images to give meaning to natural disasters, emphasizing the need to remember events that remind us of our vulnerability to nature.

The short film, only six minutes long, is distributed by Selected Films and produced by two-time Goya Award nominee Joan Bover. Sound is by Rubén Pérez, and graphic design and poster by Ángel Luque, both frequent collaborators on Carrió's projects.

Since its premiere,The images arrived on timeIt has had a long run at Spanish and international festivals, with 27 official selections and outstanding recognitions, such as the award for best direction at the Alcances festival in Cádiz and the award for best short documentary film at the Pávez awards.
