These are the 15 summer concerts you shouldn't miss

From Mozart to Antònia Font and Tarta Relena: musicians, critics and cultural managers select the most outstanding summer events in the Balearic Islands, with proposals ranging from jazz and classical music to trap, rock and author pop

11/05/2026

PalmaOne more summer, the cultural agendas of the Balearic Islands multiply their capacity between June and September with the arrival of dozens of cycles and festivals that lead to hundreds of concerts that, with so much competition, do not always achieve the expected diffusion and often end up buried by the avalanche of parallel proposals. We have asked performers, critics, and music managers to help us make a selection of essential live performances. The selection that has emerged goes through Mallorca, Menorca, and Formentera – in Ibiza, electronics monopolizes the summer musical programming – and includes proposals of all styles and for all tastes, from Celtas Cortos to La Zowi, passing through Antònia Font and the Symphony.

Richard Bona Trio

June 6 Sant Francesc (Formentera Jazz Festival)

In the musical field, there are many proposals that could serve to mark the beginning of the summer season in the Balearic Islands. One of the most appreciated by music lovers is the Formentera Jazz Festival, which, ten years later, maintains its commitment to free concerts with a consistently careful selection. Music journalist Tito Fuster highlights this year's performance by the already legendary Richard Bona, on June 6th in Sant Francesc Xavier, as a safe bet. The next day they will play at Es Claustre, in Maó.

Maria Arnal

June 20 Saint John (The Moon in Verse)

That two singers as different as Xisk and Tiu coincide in highlighting the same concert as one of the most interesting of the coming months in the Islands already says it all about the proposal: it is about the performance that Maria Arnal will offer in Sant Joan on June 20, within the framework of the La Lluna en Vers cycle. With the elegance and precision that characterize her, Arnal will once again demonstrate her stage mastery in the presentation of her latest work, the apotheosic album AMA.

Alan Parsons Project

June 23 Palma

Tito Fuster, who is also a cultural manager as well as a journalist, says that if it is to be precise and artistically select, according to him, one of the great concerts of this 2026 in the Balearic Islands will be that of Alan Parsons Project. The artist, eleven-time Grammy nominee and one of the main figures behind the album The Dark Side of the Moon, by Pink Floyd, among others, on June 23rd will turn the Palma Velodrome into an auditorium where he will offer a total spectacle.

Rock Night

June 27 Colonia Sant Pere

Rodeo and Zerodrama are part of the lineup for the new edition of the Night of Rock that takes place at the municipal sports center of Colonia de Sant Pere, on June 27, organized by the Mocuco association. “I would bet on initiatives like this one and like They have entered to steal at the Porreres house and Despair of profit from Vilafranca, which are born from self-management. They are not only fantastic, they are necessary,” points out the historian and also musician Tomeu Canyelles.

Symphonic Orchestra of the Balearic Islands

July 2nd Palma

The musical summer of journalist, mathematician, and musicologist Pere Estelrich will take him through Portocolom, Pollença, and Germany, among other places, but will officially begin in Palma with the concert that the Simfònica will offer, on July 2nd, with pianist Josep Colom as part of the concert series held every summer at Bellver Castle. They will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 27, the last piano concerto written by this composer.

Ossifar

July 3rd Palma

After the success of the concert they gave last year in Inca, Ossifar announced last December that in 2026 there would be a new –and also unique– opportunity to see them live. On July 3rd they will offer a single concert at Son Fusteret, where they expect to reunite with the thousands of followers who, more than 30 years after their debut, continue to take advantage of any opportunity to see them live. Among them, producer Miquel Àngel Sancho.

Juan Luis Guerra

July 10 Palma

There are those who, to recover their good mood after a bad day, only need to listen to a song by Juan Luis Guerra –El Niágara en bicicleta, to name one. This is the case of singer Rosa Garcias, one of the members of the group Pitxorines, who is clear that she will not miss the Dominican musician's performance at Son Fusteret on July 10. “The mix of Latin American music styles he offers transmits a lot of joy and desire to dance to me”, she shares.

Antònia Font

July 25, Saint John (Mobofest)

If there is a festival that many will not miss this year, because they have not missed it in previous years either, it is Mobofest, which bids farewell with a tenth edition that promises to be, above all, a great party. Singers Xisk, Maria Hein, and Júlia Colom agree in pointing out the performance of Antònia Font, on July 25th, as one of the most anticipated moments of the entire summer. "Besides, with them, you never know if it will be the last time you see them live," adds Colom.

Tarta Relena

July 31, Binissalem (La Lluna en Vers)

Júlia Colom also recommends the performance of Tarta Relena, who will present their latest album, ‘És pregunta’, on July 31 at Casa Llorenç Villalonga in Binissalem. “They are friends and colleagues”, says the singer from Valldemossa, “and I admire everything they do and, above all, how they do it. The path they have taken is inspiring”. Also not to miss the performance of Marta Torrella and Helena Ros will be Rosa Garcias, a member of Pitxorines, who assures she feels “captivated” by the duo.

La Zowi

August 1st, Palma (Atlàntida Film Fest)

One of the biggest names in Spanish trap, La Zowi, will also be one of the main musical draws of the new edition of the Atlàntida Film Fest. Daughter of a poet and a flamenco guitarist, known as "the matriarch of trap," she is the author of songs like 'Smartphone,' with almost 50 million streams on Spotify. On August 1st, she will headline one of the summer's big concerts for Maria Hein, who also recommends Laaza's performance at the same festival.

Cris Juanico

August 3, Ciutadella

Of the eight themes that make up Cris Juanico's new album, ‘Rosa dels vents’, we have so far been able to hear four: ‘Condemna (Llevant)’, ‘Coses arriscades (Migjorn)’, ‘Efecte papallona (Ponent)’ and ‘Addicció (Llebeig)’. Music journalist Tito Fuster does not hesitate to recommend the presentation concerts that Juanico will give in the coming months: the one in Inca, on June 13th, and especially the one he will offer at his home, in Ciutadella, on August 3rd.

Mahler Chamber Orchestra

August 5, Pollença (Festival of Pollença)

In reality, the concerts that musicologist and melomaniac Pere Estelrich assures he will not miss from the Pollença Festival program are two: that of August 5th by the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Harding, with works by Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvořák on the program, and that of Les Muffati, the Baroque Orchestra of Brussels founded 30 years ago, with a program dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach, which will take place on August 22nd.

The New Mastersounds

August 14, Mahon

Among the handful of proposals that journalist Tito Fuster would highlight, who cannot choose just one, one of the ones he recommends with most conviction is the performance of The New Mastersounds at Es Claustre de Maó, on August 14. “I would recommend all the programming at Es Claustre, where Maria Jaume, Raimundo Amador, Júlia Colom… will also play. But The New Mastersounds is an acid-jazz band, which retains the essence of the 80s and 90s.”

Freiburger Barockorchester

August 15, Pollença (Festival of Pollença)

Musicologist Bàrbara Duran says that, for her, Mozart's best works are those he composed for wind instruments. “He has a special magic for making instruments like the clarinet or the flute sing,” she shares. Furthermore, she highlights that the program for the concert on August 15th at the Pollença Festival will include movements from different works, such as one for oboe and another for bassoon, and that it will feature Éva Borhi on violin and direction and soprano Jeanine De Bique.

Celtas Cortos

August 22, Felanitx

April 20, ‘The Path of Time, Tell Me a Story’… The list of Celtas Cortos songs that are part of the imagination of a couple of generations is extensive and inexhaustible, and this is demonstrated by the fact that their performance on August 22, within the framework of the Felanitx festivals, which M-Clan and Love of Lesbian will also pass through, is one of the highlighted dates in the calendar of music professionals like Tiu. “I really want to do a revival”, he summarizes.
