Parliament calls for emergency training for students in schools

The Non-Law Proposal (PNL) urges the Government to develop an official educational guide in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of the Presidency, and the security and emergency forces.

PalmThe Parliament's Institutional and General Affairs Committee has approved an initiative presented by the PSIB (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party) to introduce emergency training in schools. The Non-Law Proposal (PNL), championed by Socialist MP Teresa Suárez, urges the government to develop an official educational guide in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Universities, the Ministry of the Presidency, and the security and emergency services, establishing the basic guidelines for this training. It also calls for the organization of annual training sessions for teachers and other professionals in the education sector, as well as the development of awareness campaigns aimed at families and the educational community, with accessible educational materials to promote a culture of prevention and safety.

The Commission also approved a Vox initiative to promote institutional recognition of the Civil Guard officers who voluntarily participated in the response to the Valencia disaster. Among other measures, the PNL requests that the Government, together with the autonomous communities, promote widespread recognition of these officers by regional institutions throughout Spain, as well as expedite the procedures for various recognitions by the state government.

Social Security allocation and compensation for residence in the Balearic Islands

Finally, unanimously, at the proposal of the People's Party (PP), the Commission has approved an initiative calling on the Spanish government to adapt Social Security employee positions to the increased responsibilities and powers arising from new social benefits. It also calls for civil servants in the general government service in the Balearic Islands to receive a residence allowance that effectively compensates for their insularity.
