The Government reinforces the metro and public transport to facilitate access to the UIB during the PAU

The objective is to guarantee that all students can arrive punctually at the different exams

PalmaThe Government, through Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca and the Consorci de Transports de Mallorca, will launch a special mobility plan for the University Entrance Exams (PAU), which will be held on June 2, 3, and 4. The objective of the plan is to ensure that students can reach the examination centers by public transport in a fluid and punctual manner, especially at the University of the Balearic Islands campus, where the majority of the exams are concentrated.

This reinforcement is added to the improvements introduced since March of last year, when peak hour frequencies were increased and services were enhanced on the busiest routes. The Government recommends prioritizing the use of the metro to access the UIB with the aim of avoiding possible traffic jams at the campus entrances and facilitating students' arrival for exams.

Bus network and interurban connections

The mobility device also includes the coordination of interurban transport through the TIB network, which connects different points in Mallorca with the examination centers. In addition to the UIB, the tests are also carried out in Inca (Fàbrica Ramis), Manacor (IES Manacor) and Sant Llorenç (Espai 36), all of them with enabled public transport connections. Lines 202 and 203 of the TIB provide direct service to the university campus, while the Consortium plans to reinforce, if necessary, the lines with the highest demand during the entry and exit periods of the exams.

The special device is complemented by the usual network of trains, metro and bus, with the aim of responding to the increase in travel generated by the PAU. To consult timetables and possible service updates, you can consult the official websites of the TIB and SFM.
