PalmThe platform The Public is not touched This Thursday, the Balearic Islands Public Education Commission (CEIP) denounced the closure of 3-year-old classrooms in several schools in the Balearic Islands, planned for the 2025-2026 academic year. The platform has opted to eliminate classes and groups in several centers. This decision, the platform considers, a "loss of a historic opportunity" to improve the quality of the public system and reduce school enrollment ratios.

Molinar (Palma); the CEIP Porta des Moll (Alcudia); the CEIP "as an opportunity to improve educational conditions, not an excuse to cut resources," criticized the organization, which calls it "unacceptable" to appeal to economic criteria at a time when the regional budgets foresee an investment of 21 million euros in linguistic segregation plans, of which 2012 is the year of 2010.

The platform called on the educational community and affected families to contact the organization and advocate for the current groups to continue, "in defense of a quality public school."

Finally, they urged the Ministry of Education to reflect and review the direction of the Balearic educational model, which, they assert, is moving away from the principles of equity and quality that should govern public education.
