Eight restaurants in the Balearic Islands are among the 100 best-rated in Spain
From the most authentic sushi to Mediterranean and signature dishes, the island establishments that shine in TheFork's 2025 state ranking
PalmThe Balearic Islands have placed eight restaurants among the 100 most popular in Spain in 2025, according to the annual ranking compiled by the reservation platform TheFork, now in its eighth edition. The list, which selects the establishments best rated by users, consolidates the archipelago as one of the regions with the strongest gastronomic presence in Spain.
Of the eight Balearic restaurants included in the Top 100Seven are in Mallorca and one is in Menorca. In Palma, the list includes Japo Santa Catalina (12), Harajuku Gastro Sushi (21), Daikiya (30), Hungry Gastro Food Bar (41), and Kaizen (46). Completing the Mallorcan list are Chicos del Mar (57), in Peguera, and Es Pati de Montuïri (68), in Montuïri. In Menorca, Llucasaldent Gran, located in Alaior, appears in 64th position.
The overall ranking is headed by Baalbec Restaurant Lounge, in Alicante, followed by restaurants in Barcelona and Madrid, two of the cities with the strongest presence on the list. In total, the 2025 edition includes establishments from 13 autonomous communities and 20 provinces, with Catalonia (34 restaurants), Madrid (20), and the Valencian Community (16) leading the way. The Balearic Islands are in fifth position, ahead of Andalusia, with seven restaurants. This edition also stands out for its gastronomic diversity, with up to 27 different types of cuisine. Mediterranean cuisine leads the ranking, followed by haute cuisine and Spanish cuisine, while international cuisines—especially Japanese, Asian, and Indian—are gaining ground, a trend also reflected in the presence of Balearic restaurants specializing in Japanese cuisine. Furthermore, 34 of the restaurants in the Top 100 have received Michelin Guide accolades, including two establishments with three stars and several with one star or a Bib Gourmand, which reinforces the prestige of the list and its influence on gastronomic trends in Spain.
