A fire declared around 5 p.m. this Thursday in the rear of Manacor hospital, set off alarms and security protocols in the building, forcing the rapid and sudden evacuation of several areas of the center. In total, 25 patients had to be relocated: in the Pediatrics unit, 7 mothers, 4 children, and 2 small infants. These and 3 more from the oncology area were transferred to the UCSI area (the Day Surgery Unit). Another 9 patients from Psychiatry were taken to an internal courtyard while the fire was being put out and its possible causes were being investigated. At the moment, they are already back in their unit. In all cases, relatives have already been notified.
