Man arrested in Palma for blackmailing a minor with intimate images

PalmThe National Police have arrested a young man in Palma accused of blackmailing a minor with the threat of releasing intimate images and videos unless she sent him more sexually explicit content. The case is being investigated as a crime against sexual freedom. The investigation began after the victim reported being contacted through a messaging app by an unknown profile. The perpetrator claimed to have compromising material and personal information about her and threatened to make it public if she did not comply with his demands. Although the minor was initially unable to identify the person responsible, she considered the threats credible after realizing he knew details about her. The investigation by the Technological Crimes and Economic Crimes Unit led to the identification of the suspect, who was part of the victim's close, though not intimate, circle of acquaintances. According to the investigation, the young man allegedly accessed the minor's private files after she lost her mobile phone, where the material was stored. Once identified, the officers located and arrested him. The alleged perpetrator reportedly confessed to the crime to the police.
