A man asks the courts of Manacor to imprison him because he wants to kill his ex-partner

The National Police have arrested him after he stated that he had been looking for the woman for ten days, with respect to whom he had a restraining order.

PalmaThe National Police has arrested a man in Manacor as the alleged perpetrator of a serious threats offense after he presented himself at the courts and asked to speak with a judge to send him to prison. According to his statement, he had been looking for his ex-partner for ten days with the intention of killing her, but had not located her.

The events took place this Tuesday, when security guards at the Manacor courts called 091 to report that a man was demanding to speak with a judge. The individual claimed he wanted to be admitted to prison because he had been looking for his ex-partner for ten days to kill her, as reported by the Superior Police Headquarters of the Balearic Islands in a statement.

The patrols that went to the courts confirmed that the man had threatened to kill his ex-partner, with whom he had a restraining order in effect.

Agents from the Family and Women's Support Unit (UFAM) in Manacor took charge of the case and immediately verified that the woman was in a safe place and in perfect condition. The Police also confirmed that officers had contacted her two days earlier under the VioGén system protection protocol.

The man explained to investigators that he had been looking for the woman "non-stop" for ten days and had even sneaked into the country house where she lived. He had also gone to the home of some of her relatives to try to locate her.

The agents were able to confirm this last point because the woman's relatives explained that they had found the man's clothes and other belongings in the dwelling.

Finally, the National Police arrested the individual this same Tuesday as the alleged perpetrator of a serious threats offense.
