The Mallorca Teaching Staff Board joins the fight for Catalan-language and democratic schools.

PalmThe unions of the Non-University Teaching Staff Board of Mallorca (STEI, ANPE, SIAU, UOB, UGT, Alternativa and CCOO) have unanimously approved supporting the Teachers' Assembly manifesto in favor of public schools and in Catalan, which was read in the educational centers of the Islands on June 11, and the university manifesto of the UIB. The manifesto demands that the school, as always, will continue "educating in democratic, anti-racist values and with scientific criteria" and that "it will continue to do so in Catalan", since the Catalan language is the "main tool for inclusion and social cohesion".
"Given the hatred emanating from the measures approved by the regional government with the extreme right, teachers cannot shirk their responsibility to contribute to the construction of a democratic and tolerant society, a responsibility that President Prohens has not had by signing an agreement that endangers coexistence, the equine".
At the same meeting, the Board also approved resolutions assessing the 2024-2025 school year, opposing Catholic religious counseling in Teacher Training Centers, and also expressed its overall rejection of the budget agreement between the PPi Vox.
