PalmaThe President of the Congress, Francina Armengol, is emerging as the favorite option to lead the PSIB's candidacy in the general elections on November 29th. The party's candidate for the regional elections, Rosario Sánchez, recalled in a press conference that Armengol had already put herself forward last June, when she announced that she would not run in the regional elections. "She would be a fantastic head of the list," she explained. However, the final decision will be made after a primary election process.

"It is a moment of broad majorities, of clear, simple decisions, without nuances," Sánchez claimed after the early election announced this Monday. In the same vein, he considered that Armengol, who is the secretary general of the PSIB, has the "necessary strength" to face a "historic" moment for Spain. However, he also remarked that the PSOE has internal democratic procedures and that this morning, at 11:00 AM, the party's executive met to set them in motion.

In the same vein, the socialist has insisted on the topic that will foreseeably be the center of the campaign: housing. Thus, she has accused the PP and Vox of turning their backs on thousands of families by voting against the 'Maricarmen decree' last Friday in the Congress of Deputies. She has also lashed out at Marga Prohens' Government, because, she claimed, it has aggravated the housing crisis in the Islands, where rental prices have increased in recent years, while the PP refuses to limit them by applying the available state legislation, which allows declaring territories as a stressed area.
