The dictionary definition of 'culture' falls short. The DIEC says it's "the set of literary, historical, scientific, or any other kind of knowledge possessed as a result of study, reading, travel, experience, etc." The problem is that it leaves out emotions, because a person's cultural baggage is also loaded with emotions, memories, feelings... Tears, laughter, vertigo: we not only possess culture, but culture also possesses us and leads us down paths we wouldn't otherwise discover.

That's why I don't believe in any hierarchy of cultural creations. Elitism seems to me, to put it bluntly, bullshit in any of its forms. And, of course, that includes cultural matters. I started to get emotional about reading with 13 Rue del Percebe and then I became addicted to photo novels Barbiewhich came out every two weeks. I went to the newsstand as if I were on a pilgrimage to find the meaning of life. I combined the adventures of Jules Verne with the sex advice column of the Super PopAnd thanks to the cassettes that came as a gift, I had a good repertoire to dance to in my room.

Speaking of dancing, the minutes before the shower are crucial. I can dance with Play from Triquell and, if I'm having a bad day, I put on The death of Donkey of Grieg and takes the opportunity to cry for a while and leave the house relaxed.

While they are hallucinating with The Story by Elsa Morante –please read it, it's one of the most incredible novels I've ever come across–, I secretly grab the magazine at my parents' house WeekBecause I like to gossip, even though I don't know who many of the people who go out are anymore.

After enjoying The Chimera (by Alice Rohrwacher), a film that left me in awe, like a small doll, I've caught up with Grey's Anatomywhich helps me clear my mind for 45 minutes, during which I'm on edge wondering if those two characters I think are destined to be together will finally get together.

Culture is what we create so that we can feel it and so that others can make it their own. It's true that capitalist culture has the knack for manipulating our need to imagine and feel for profit. Nothing is perfect. But I don't care. Today I'm very happy. I finally have Maxim Osipov's latest book!
