PalmAround 150 people gathered this Saturday afternoon in Palma's Plaza de España to protest against the actions of US President Donald Trump and to reject US intervention in Venezuela. The attendees made it clear that the demonstration did not represent support for Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, but rather a defense of peace and international dialogue. The gathering, which began at 6:00 PM, was organized by Sumud Flotilla, the Mallorca Anti-Racist Platform, and the Mallorca for Peace Platform, which brings together several social organizations, political parties, and NGOs. In statements to the media, Salvador Martínez, coordinator of Mallorca for Peace, explained that the protest was called in response to the US attack on Venezuela in the early hours of the same day, which he described as "terrifying and absolutely unacceptable." According to Martínez, the US action demonstrates "total impunity" and constitutes a violation of international law and human rights.

In this regard, he demanded a clear response from international institutions, such as the European Union, as well as from various governments, including the Spanish government, to strongly condemn actions he considers "intolerable." Regarding the support of some Venezuelan exiles for the US intervention, Martínez emphasized that the organizing groups were not commenting on the internal management of the Maduro government. He insisted that the demonstration was not intended as a debate about the Venezuelan regime, but rather as a denunciation that invasion, regime change by force, or military interventions are not legitimate means of resolving international conflicts. During the protest, attendees displayed banners with slogans against war, imperialism, and the US military presence, and chanted slogans against intervention in Venezuela. The event concluded with the reading of a manifesto by the organizing groups.
