In a statement, the PSIB (Socialist Party of the Balearic Islands) expressed its "enormous joy" after the award was made public. According to the Socialists, this recognizes the career and legacy that Antich left in the Balearic Islands, almost a year after his death.
The Secretary General of the PSIB-PSOE, Francina Armengol, affirmed that this is a recognition of the great political career of a great person, a great socialist, and a great politician "who innovated extensively in the policies of the Islands and was absolutely pioneering, courageous, and committed." Armengol also highlighted that Antich was a person "of enormous honesty, with a great capacity for dialogue and consensus." The general secretary of the Socialists of the Archipelago also extended her congratulations to Antich's family.
