It's worth recalling that the granting of this award generated a unanimous reaction from the Balearic political class in mid-October, when the Spanish government approved awarding it to Javier Lambán and Guillermo Fernández Vara. In a statement, the PSIB (Socialist Party of the Balearic Islands) expressed its "enormous joy" after the award was made public. According to the Socialists, this recognizes the career and legacy that Antich left in the Balearic Islands, almost a year after his death.
