Less Tourism, More Life calls for support for the flotilla and the Palestinian resistance

MÁS por Palma proposes an institutional declaration to condemn the attack on the flotilla in Gaza.

ARA Balears

PalmThe Less Tourism More Life Platform and the SET (Southern Europe Against Touristification) network condemned this Thursday the occupation of Palestine by the "terrorist state of Israel" after intercepting, in international waters, most of the vessels that were part of the flotilla that intended to break the franc. Therefore, it has called on citizens to join the demonstrations planned for this Thursday in front of the town halls of the Balearic Islands.

The organization has also positioned itself against the "sinister Zionist and capitalist fantasies" about the transformation of the Gaza Strip into a tourist Riviera governed by Israel and the United States.

In addition, it calls for a boycott of the Airbnb and Booking platforms, which publish advertisements for tourist accommodation "in illegal settler settlements in the West Bank and actively participate in Zionist employment tourism" described in the latest report by the United Nations special rapporteur, Francesc From the economy of employment to the economy of genocide.

As they emphasized, as they already "made clear on June 15th in the massive mobilization in Palma," their fight "is for a dignified life, and there is no dignified life while on the other side of the Mediterranean the illegitimate state of Israel is committing genocide against the people."

The spokesperson for the eco-sovereignists in Cort, Neus Truyol, has demanded that the mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, seek immediate protection for Unides Podem councilor in the City Council, Lucía Muñoz, who is aboard one of the flotilla's vessels. She requested the same measure for the other two Palma residents who are part of the humanitarian mission.

"There can be no neutrality in the face of genocide and the flagrant violation of international law," Truyol said.

For the spokesperson for the eco-sovereignists, the "attack" perpetrated by the Israeli military forces "is not an isolated incident," but rather forms part of "a strategy of intimidation and psychological warfare against civilian and peaceful missions protected by international law."

"To remain silent would be to become accomplices. The institutions must react," Truyol stressed.
