The April Fair returns to Palma thanks to the PP: "The Fair values our traditions"

The mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, presented the return of the April Fair to the city this Friday and defended its revival after several years of absence. "The Fair values ​​our traditions and will be a meeting point for the entire city," he said. He explained that the event will take place between April 23 and 26 at the Son Fusteret fairgrounds. During his speech, Martínez also emphasized the importance of bringing back a festival that, he said, is "deeply rooted" in the city and that now "returns with the recognition and importance it deserves." The mayor attributed the fair's return to the collaboration between the City Council and the Casa de Andalucía in the Balearic Islands, an organization that, in his words, "has been a meeting point and a space for coexistence for thousands of people," and which has helped keep their roots and identity alive, even during the years when the fair was not held.

The planned program will take place over four days in Son Fusteret, featuring traditional houses, restaurants, and stages with performances of Sevillanas, flamenco, and rumbas, as well as various cultural activities. The offerings will also include gastronomy featuring typical Andalusian products, the traditional Rociera Mass, and a demonstration by the Mounted Police. Martínez stated that the initiative reflects the City Council's desire to "build an open, diverse, and welcoming city, where coexistence and respect between cultures are part of Palma's identity." In this regard, he emphasized that Andalusian culture "is, without a doubt, an essential pillar of Palma's richness and diversity." The mayor also indicated that the municipal objective is to consolidate this celebration so that it "once again becomes a landmark event on the city's festive calendar." The presentation included a musical performance by Miguel Crespo and Victoria Lara, members of the group Pura Raza. Martínez took advantage of the fair's presentation to invite the public to participate and thanked everyone who made the event's revival possible. "I invite all citizens to participate in and enjoy the Palma April Fair," he stated, emphasizing that it is a celebration that "values ​​our traditions and our shared culture."
