The judge requests an investigation into the scope of Vox's Islamophobic campaign in the Balearic Islands

Podemos accuses Le Senne's party of being "feminazi": "They only defend white Western women."

PalmThe investigation opened by Palma's Court of Instruction Number 6 into Vox's Islamophobic billboards continues to progress. The judge has requested that the Public Prosecutor's Office ask the Balearic Islands' security forces to determine the scope and possible coordination of the racist campaign, whose posters have appeared in Palma, Inca, Menorca, and Ibiza. This was reported on Tuesday by the Podemos spokesperson in the Palma City Council, Lucía Muñoz, who accused Vox of sending a "feminazi" message, in which "only white Western women are defended, not all women."

Muñoz was accompanied by Cristina Gómez, a lawyer and former Podemos member of the Balearic Parliament, who stated that "what Vox, as a neo-fascist party, intends with this campaign is to attack women, even though they disguise it as feminism." "It doesn't wash," she added. "It doesn't liberate women: what we can deduce is that they also want to expel Muslim women. The reward they propose is deportation to countries where there is a dubious defense of human rights."

Gómez also announced that Podemos will request that the Vox leader in the Balearic Islands, Gabriel Le Senne, testify in the legal proceedings investigating this alleged hate crime. "As the party's top official, he is also responsible for the Balearic Islands becoming a land of hate," she concluded. The lawyer stated, explaining the legal proceedings, that "this is not about freedom of expression, but about hate propaganda that targets Muslim women as if they represent a threat." She also requested the application of the Rabat Test, a UN tool for assessing whether certain acts constitute a hate crime.

Vox launched this campaign targeting Muslims in September, placing a series of billboards in various municipalities across the Canary Islands. The billboards featured two young women, one wearing a burka and the other with her face uncovered, and included the question: "What kind of Spain do you want?" However, it should be noted that this campaign is not new; it has already been carried out in different parts of Spain, such as El Eijido, and has been met with rejection and confrontation.

Gómez also referred to the posters that have appeared in Inca in recent days with similar messages. "Vox has opened the door to even more aggressive campaigns, like this one that speaks directly of 'remigration,'" she lamented. The Podemos representative emphasized that "it's no longer about expelling those who commit crimes, but rather about generalized expulsions." In this regard, she denounced that the far-right party "spreads fake news"Because a person from another country who commits a crime can already be deported under current legislation."
